myPASS: Attaching a File

Last updated 8/4/2016

Visual: The screen opens on the Graduate Coursework Schedule on the myPASS schedule with a completed appointment form open. The speaker selects “SAVE APPOINTMENT.”

Audio: After you click “SAVE APPOINTMENT,” a new window will open letting you know that you have successfully added an appointment and the following directions to attach your paper: “If you would like to attach a file to this appointment, click here.”

If you are not yet ready to attach your paper, you can come back and do so later. We’ll first walk through attaching your paper here. Select the “click here” link, which will open an “Attach a File” window.

Visual: The speaker selects the “click here” link. A new window titled “Attach a File” opens with three areas to enter information: Appointment, Attach File, and Document Title. It also includes the following information: “Please note that file sizes over 1 MB will not attach. Also, please upload your paper as a Microsoft Word document. While the scheduling system will allow you to upload different files types, such as PDFs or text files, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment if we do not receive your paper as a Word document. Writing instructors do not review PDF files or PowerPoints.”

Audio: Select the “Choose File” button to browse your computer and select the file you want to attach. Note that there are file size limits to the document you can upload and writing instructors do not review PDF files or PowerPoints.

Visual: Pointer clicks on “Choose File” button in “Attach a File” window. A new window opens with documents listed in a file folder of the speaker’s computer.  The speaker selects a file and clicks “Open”. The view returns to the “Attach a File” window.

Audio: Then, name your document.

Visual: The speaker names the document “My paper” in the “Document Title” field.

Audio: When you have finished attaching your file, click “UPLOAD FILE.” You will now see a message that your file has been attached successfully, and you can close the window.

Visual: After the speaker clicks “Upload File,” the window changes to a confirmation message that the file was attached successfully. The speaker then clicks “CLOSE WINDOW”. Window closes and returns to the MyPASS schedule.

Audio: Once you have attached your file—even if you received the message that your file attached successfully—we recommend that you confirm that your file did attach to your appointment.  To do so, open your appointment and scroll to the bottom of the appointment form. If your document attached successfully, you will see a link to your document in your appointment form.

Visual: The speaker scrolls down the schedule to the yellow appointment. The speaker then clicks to appointment to open it, scrolling to the bottom of the form to confirm the paper is attached.
