Narration: This short video demonstrates how to find a journal by title in the Walden Library and how to check our years of subscription coverage. From the library website, click on the Start Your Research button, then click on Journals.

Narration: In the search box in the center, type in the title of the journal you want to find. For this search we're going to look for the Journal of Education for Business. Then click the search button or hit the Enter key.

Narration: You will be prompted to sign in with your Walden username and password if you have not already done so. In this case I've already done that today. If we have the journal, it should appear in the results in the center of the page.  If you don’t see it, first check your spelling. This search box does not catch typos.

Narration: For journals that the Library has, you'll see "full text access" below the journal title. You can either click on that or the plus sign to open up the list. This shows you all of the databases that have the journal, as well as our years of coverage for each one.

Be sure to check what years are available for each database and choose a database that has the year you need.

For example, with this journal, if you wanted to browse the most recent issue, you could not do so in a number of the options that have a full text delay.

For example, Academic Search Complete has a full text delay of 18 months.

However, this database, Taylor & Francis, shows that they have 1997 to present.

That would be a good option if you were looking for the most recent issues.

Simply click on a database to see the issues and the articles within them.

Remember, we have tens of thousands of journals, but no library can have everything. If you cannot find a journal, again, first check your spelling.

Visual: scroll up to put cursor over "Ask a Librarian" link in upper right corner of page.

Narration: If you need more help, or you still can't find what you need, you can always contact us via Ask A Librarian! The link is in the upper right corner of the journal search page.
