Become a Thriving Student with OASIS Peer Mentor Support

"I feel more comfortable and part of the Walden family. I am no longer a stranger! Thank you for all of your support and I know it will continue throughout my stay at Walden University."

Who are OASIS Peer Mentors?

Peer mentors are high-performing Walden students who are both good at learning and care about helping others. They provide just-in-time support and assist you in building and sustaining your success as a learner. All Walden students are welcome to connect with a peer mentor. Read on below to learn who they are and what services they offer to support you as you complete your academic program to Get the W.

Learn more about how peer mentors can help you thrive

Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctorate degree programs present continuous learning towards assignment deadlines and academic milestones, which most often consist of on-going knowledge acquisition and intellectual transformation, all of which can be both rigorous and rewarding.

OASIS Peer Mentors can support you in many ways on this journey:

  • Partner with you in problem solving, finding a solution, and setting a goal.
  • Guide you to relevant resources.
  • Encourage your personal growth and development.

Connecting with Peer Mentors may increase your confidence and have a positive impact on your student success overall. Email Us: peermentors@mail.waldenu.edu.

How to Engage with Peer Mentors

Peer Mentor Connect and Chat

Through the Connect and Chat service, peer mentors provide active listening, high-quality connection, experiential advice sharing, and solution-based coaching.

Please review the Connect and Chat Information and Expectations prior to your session.

Student Expectations
  • Arrive on Time. Sessions are 25 minutes in length, make the most of your connection time!
  • Be at a computer with internet access and free of distractions. We cannot meet with students operating a motor vehicle.
