This page is for undergraduate students requesting credit for prior learning through the Center for Degree Acceleration.
The main component of the Prior Learning Portfolio is a narrative of your learning. A narrative is essentially a story. What is your story? What have you learned in your life? For some of you, the learning will be clear and plentiful. For others, these experiences might be harder to determine. The important point to remember is not what you have done but how you have grown through those activities. You will need to align that growth to the learning outcomes of a college-level course within the narrative.
The Writing Center has developed some resources to assist you in prewriting, drafting, and revising your Prior Learning Narrative. Explore these resources via the brown tabs on the left.
