Locate SWOT Articles and Reports in ABI/INFORM Complete

Follow these steps to find articles and reports that include SWOT analysis in the ABI/INFORM Complete database:

  1. Access ABI/INFORM Complete. (How do I find a specific database?)
  2. In the search fields, type in the following terms:

    First search field:

    "SWOT Analysis"

    Note: Be sure to use the quotation marks. They search for that exact phrase.
    Note: Be sure to change the Anywhere drop-down menu to All Subjects & Indexing - SU. This will search for articles and reports indexed with our selected term.

    Second search field (Type in a search term for your topic. We'll use nonprofit as an example topic):

    "Non profit " OR nonprofit

    Note: Be sure to use the OR, it expands your results by searching for either term.


     
  3. Click Search. You can view the type of documents available and limit your results by Source Type by clicking on Source Type on the left-hand side panel.
  4. In this example, you will see both Scholarly Journals (Articles) and Reports as options. Click on either to narrow your results to that source type.

     

Locate SWOT Analysis articles in Business Source Complete

Follow these steps to find articles and reports that include SWOT analysis in the Business Source Complete database:

  1. Access Business Source Complete. (How do I find a specific database?)
  2. In the search fields, type in the following terms:

    First search field:

    "SWOT Analysis"

    Note: Be sure to use the quotation marks. They search for that exact phrase.
    Note: Be sure to change the Anywhere drop down to SU Subject Terms. This will search for articles and reports indexed with our selected term.

    Second search field (Type in a search term for your topic. We'll use nonprofit as an example topic):

    "Non profit " OR nonprofit

    Note: Be sure to use the OR, it expands your results by searching for either term.

  3. Click Search. 

If you would like to see a company-specific SWOT Analysis, check the box next to SWOT Analysis under Publication type. This search is for a specific company SWOT analysis only. Do not add any keywords unless it's a company name. Click Search. Please note that this will severely limit your results.
