My Academic Journey

My Academic Journey

Why did you choose Walden for your undergraduate degree?

Walden was highly rated for psychology programs, and it was easy to get information about the school and easy to enroll!

What has been your favorite class at Walden (to date), and why?

I love Profiling Serial and Mass Murderers. The professor was extremely knowledgeable, and the class had a significant interactive aspect to it, as well. We were given a couple of different crime scenes that we used to profile the offender. It was fascinating.

What have you learned about yourself so far on your academic journey?

I have learned that I can do more than I ever thought I could. I challenged myself this year, and I have met and exceeded all my goals.

What is one fear or anxiety you had about starting school that you no longer have?

I had a lot of anxiety about succeeding in college-level courses. It is not like high school, and you cannot skate your way through. I assumed I would not be smart enough to get through everything, but I will be graduating in December with honors!

My Mentorship Experiences

My Mentorship Experiences

Who is your academic, professional, or personal mentor? Why has this person been so important to you?

My professional mentor is my boss and friend, Amy. She has encouraged me every step of the way and always has the best advice.

Why did you want to be a peer mentor?

I wanted to become a peer mentor to help other students acclimate into Walden and assist them in reaching their academic goals like I have.
