About Holly: I have a BA in Biology from Catawba College, where I played Division II women’s soccer. After Catawba I attended Wake Forest University and obtained an MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. At Wake Forest I worked in clinical research investigating the genetic basis for cancer resistance in a laboratory setting. After graduate school I began my career in higher education, working for a rural community college in North Carolina for over 16 years. I enjoy helping students overcome the challenges associated with balancing life, work, and school. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active. I have run a few marathons, many half-marathons, 2 half-iron-man triathlons, and many other sporting events. I also enjoy hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Why I enjoy my role as a Walden Peer Tutor
I really enjoy watching people achieve something they never thought possible! Students can really achieve great things when they find out the right tools to use.
What students can expect from me as a tutor
As a peer tutor, you can count on me to be positive, encouraging, and patient. I am very organized so I will gather as many resources as I can for you, knowing that students learn in many different ways. I am comfortable with technology, so I will most likely share my screen to help you work through your problems. I strive to provide a stress-free, interactive, and welcoming environment so that we can focus on learning.
