What I do in my role as a Writing Assessment Specialist
In my role as a Writing Assessment Specialist, I work with students on the Doctoral Writing Assessment (DWA) at the beginning of their program. I communicate with students regarding the assessment requirements, answer any questions students or staff have about the DWA, and track student progress.
My favorite project
In the Minneapolis office, we have a group called the Community Building Committee (CBC). CBC organizes events and activities throughout the year that include guest speakers, service events, awareness campaigns, etc. My favorite project was “Green Week”. We promoted recycling programs in the Twin Cities, hosted guest speakers who educated us on ways we can be green in our homes and communities, and I got to lead an upcycling craft project using supplies from thrift stores. It was a very fun and informative week!
