Self-Editing

Once students reach the doctoral capstone writing stage, self-awareness about the strengths and weaknesses of their own writing and the ability to critique and revise their own work become incredibly important. The doctoral capstone draft, even at the proposal stage, can be dozens of pages long, and having the skills to self-edit (which is more than just reading over once or twice) will help students prepare a publication-worthy document ready for faculty approval.
