About Tawanna: I started with the Academic Skills Center in 2018 as a Graduate Assistant Tutor for MS Office (Word and PowerPoint). I have always enjoyed working with students and helping them to learn and understand.
I am a mother of three young adults, and an 11-year old Shih Tzu named Maxx. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, and occasionally trying new recipes. I also like to workout, learn new things, and share my experience to helping others in their learning activities.

About Nancy: I started with the Academic Skills Center in 2013 as a math peer mentor while completing my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I quickly found that working with students led me to my passion – helping others learn. So, I went back to school to gain knowledge in teaching and learning. I’m now proud to be with the Academic Skills Center as an Instructional Specialist.
I am the mother of two college students (and, you guessed it, both are in master's programs at Walden). My husband, Francis, and our 14-year old mixed Dachshund “baby”, Rosie, round out the Brown family. My favorite times are spent with my family day tripping, watching movies, enjoying game night or just hanging out. I also like to garden, cook, and continue to pursue my passion to help others learn.
