Find Books

The books The Color Purple and The Autobiography of Malcolm X should be available in many public libraries. The links take you to WorldCat, which is a combined catalog of thousands of libraries. Enter your location information to find libraries near you that hold those books.

Other options include used book stores and online book retailers.

Find Videos

The Walden Library does not have a collection of theatrical films.

There are several places you can go to access movies:

  • Your local library: many have collections of DVDs available for checkout.
  • Netflix: this requires a subscription, and some movies are available only as DVD rentals.
  • Amazon: their Instant Video option allows rental of some movies, while others are available for purchase.

You can also try to locate versions that have been posted online. These versions may or may not comply with U.S. copyright law. To locate a movie, it's best to search Google or Yahoo for the movie title and the word "streaming."
