Securing Field Experiences
You will complete three academic terms of internship consisting of professional practice, application of theory, and demonstration of counseling skills at site(s) consistent with your program of study. Internship I will be an advanced counseling experience, completed under the supervision of a Walden-approved site supervisor. Internships II and III will consist of experiences in Teaching and Supervision, provided by Walden University, as well as an additional experience of your choosing in one of the counselor education and supervision domains, completed under the supervision of Walden faculty members. In preparation for your search for field sites, you should read and become very familiar with this manual, especially Section 4. Participating in Field Experience. You will then seek out field sites and site supervisors in your community that meet your program’s requirements.
