State Licensure and Accreditation
The PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision is not a licensure program and does not prepare an individual to become a licensed counseling professional.
The PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program at Walden University is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The program was designed to reflect the professional guidelines set forth by leading counselor education organizations.
Students needing postgraduate verification of program completion and/or field experience hours should submit the request to the Office of Certification, Licensure, and Compliance in Meditrek®.
