Approval of Field Experience

You will be notified of the approval of your field experience application via your Walden email address. You can also monitor the status of your application in Meditrek®. You must not begin a field experience until your application has been approved. Any work completed with a field site prior to approval of the application and enrollment in the first day of the field experience course is not under the purview of your role as a Walden University field experience student and it will not count toward your field experience requirements.

Your field experience application must be approved pending ONLY prerequisite coursework no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the field experience (Meditrek® application status must be either “Approval Pending Prerequisites ONLY” or “Approved”). Your prerequisite coursework should be satisfactorily completed 2 weeks prior to the start of field experience; operations coordinators will complete the final review of students’ records to ensure students have received passing grades in prerequisite coursework during the week prior to the term start. All requirements must be completed and approved in Meditrek® no less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the field experience, including any student support plans, any required skills coaching, application documentation, affiliation agreements, and any onboarding required by the field site. You must also ensure that you are eligible for registration (in active status with the university with no holds preventing registration) at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the field experience. If your application requirements are completed less than 2 weeks prior to the start of field experience, your application may not be approved and the field experience may be delayed.
