Skype for Business: Share PowerPoint presentation

Upload and present a PowerPoint presentation

You can present a PowerPoint deck within Skype.

To upload a PowerPoint presentation:

  1. Go into the meeting room by clicking the Join the Meeting link in the meeting invite.
  2. Click the share icon (shaped like a monitor).
  3. Select Present PowerPoint Files.... This opens an explorer window.

 

  1. Browse to the desired PowerPoint presentation and click Open.
  2. The PowerPoint file loads into the meeting space in presentation view.

 

To change to a thumbnail view, click the Thumbnails link in the lower right corner.

To show the notes, click the Notes link in the lower right corner.

 

 

Stop the PowerPoint presentation by clicking the Stop Presenting button at the top center of the meeting space.

Annotate PowerPoint presentations

You can give Presenters, everyone, or no one the ability to annotate PowerPoint presentations loaded into the meeting space.  The PowerPoint file isn't actually changed; you are drawing on the PowerPoint slide.  The annotations are saved as an XPS file.  This file can be opened by the XPS viewer installed with Windows.

 

To provide permission to annotate PowerPoint files:

  1. Go into the meeting room by clicking the Join the Meeting link in the meeting invite.
  2. Click the three dots in the lower right corner.
  3. Click Skype Meeting Options.

 

  1. Select who should have annotation permission from the Who can annotate PowerPoint presentations? drop-down menu.

 

  1. Click OK.

Save PowerPoint annotations

You can save any annotations made to the PowerPoint.

To save the annotations:

  1. Click the share icon (shaped like a monitor).
  2. Click Manage Presentable Content.

 

  1. Click the More button.
  2. Click Save with Annotations, and save file as usual.

 

  1. Click the Close button.
