Background

Erik started with Walden in February 2015. His work motto is ‘We all advance when nurses advance!’. That is why it is especially fulfilling for Erik to assist nursing students with their educational goals and with following their why. His hobbies include gardening, fishing, brewing, hunting, and writing.

Lisa joined the Office of Field Experience within Walden University’s School of Nursing in May 2015.  Lisa’s favorite aspect of her role at Walden is helping students find an appropriate and beneficial practicum site as they progress toward their graduate degree. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends and creates textile arts.

BA in Science Communication with Minors in Geology and Philosophy from Beloit College.

Background

Brenda started at Walden in August of 2019.  Her role works to facilitate communication for the SON Office of Field Experience, support students and preceptors with Meditrek, and resolve other requests as they arise.  Doing her best to be supportive to students and preceptors, restoring order, and having fantastic teammates, is what she enjoys most about being on the Field Experience team.  Outside of Walden, Brenda loves hiking with her dog Rudder, going kayaking and biking, spending time with friends and family, baking, playing games, and hanging out with cows as much as possible.

Outside of Walden Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Terese, as well as hanging out with friends and family. Scott also spends time cooking, grilling, baking, creating recipes and discovering new places to eat around Minnesota, the United States and the World.

Michael joined Walden University’s School of Nursing Field Experience Team in November 2016. He enjoys engaging with students about their goals as both change agents and scholar-practitioners within a globally diverse profession. Michael believes highly-qualified nursing professionals are integral to eliminating health disparities; identifying interventions that improve the health of populations and communities; and developing patient-centered, systematic approaches to facilitate positive outcomes utilizing the art and science of nursing. Located in the Minneapolis, MN office, Michael also enjoys music, singing, mindfulness and spending time in nature.

Background

Anders started at Walden in January of 2014.  He enjoys the challenge of taking complex issues and boiling them down to their key elements to problem solve and find solutions that help our students get successfully placed in their practicum experience.  He also enjoys researching and obtaining the context and scope of the affiliation agreements that we have with health systems and field sites.  Outside of the office, he enjoys discovering and listening to new music as well as the classics—from classical and bluegrass, to metal and progressive rock.  He also plays the trombone in a local orchestra and enjoys supporting local restaurants and businesses.

She switched over to her new role as a Field Education Coordinator in December of 2019, in which she primarily supports students in the Eastern region of the US as well as international students. Outside of her time at Walden, she enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering, traveling in the US and Internationally, and being with family.

Background

Mahelet started at Walden University in December, 2018 with the School of Nursing. Mahelet reviews applications and helps navigate students through their application process. Background

Brandi joined Walden University in 2015 as the Director.   Brandi has diverse experiences in higher education administration.  The majority of her experiences has been in the area of enrollment management, operations, admissions, student success, marketing and advising.  She enjoys creating opportunities in field experience to provide a system for students to be successful in field experience and to achieve their lifelong goals.  Throughout her time at Walden, she has seen the program grow and change for the better and is excited about the future.  Brandi lives in the Minneapolis area and enjoys all the recreational opportunities, cultural events and sporting events that Minnesota has to offer.  Brandi is an avid kayaker, hiker, biker, skier, and any other activity that gets her outdoors.

Victoria has been with Walden University since January 2008 and served in various student support roles over the years. She began her Field Education Supervisor role with the School of Nursing Field Experience Office in January, 2020. Victoria’s goal is to provide quality and timely service to students and facilitate best possible experience outcomes. Victoria enjoys leading students and staff by offering support and guidance.
