While we are happy to help students who call in during our regular office hours, we also have made it possible for students to reserve an appointment to speak with a Student Success Advisor.

 

Scheduling an Appointment

Learn how to book an appointment in your portal. These directions are for scheduling with a Student Success Advisor, but you can use this same area to book for an appointment at a residency or with another university department.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you can no longer make it to your scheduled appointment, please remember to cancel the appointment. Doing so helps us by opening up an appointment for another student.

To make an appointment with a Student Success Advisor, start at your myWalden portal.

1. On your myWalden Homepage, click the Help tab

2. Click on Schedule an Appointment on the Help tab menu

3. Beneath the Student Success Advisor area, select your degree level.

4. Select an available appointment time.

5. Input your phone number and check off the box next to the reason for your appointment.

6. Input any additional information in the text box and Schedule Now.

7. The appointment confirmation screen will appear. A confirmation will be e-mailed to you. You also have the option to add this event to your calendar.

To cancel your appointment,

  1. Access your myWalden e-mail account.
  2. Open your confirmation e-mail for your appointment.
  3. In the confirmation, there will be a link to decline your appointment. Select "click here".

  4. Click the red Decline button if you wish to decline your appointment.


     

  5. You will receive then receive a confirmation page for your canceled appointment.

Best Practices for Appointments

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • When you reserve your appointment, you'll be able to note the purpose for the appointment. This helps your advisor better prepare for your conversation.
  • Please make note of what telephone number you used when reserving the appointment and be available at that number at the time of your call.
  • Student Success Advising recommends that students be logged into their myWalden portal during the appointment, so that we can direct you to any applicable resources you may need.
  • Due to the scientific studies showing a higher risk of car accidents from talking on a cell phone while one is driving, we do not conduct telephone advising appointments with students while they are driving motor vehicles. If you are driving a motor vehicle at the time of your scheduled appointment, we will ask you to pull over to the side of the road to give our advising conversation your full attention or we will require that your appointment be rescheduled.
