This document provides the background for the use of theoretical frameworks in your SPPA Ph.D. dissertation research.
Visual designs are useful in illustrating the concept and process of reviewing and synthesizing literature. As you apply these tools in your own work, you will find it easier to locate the intersection of the major topics in the literature that help you focus on your research topic. These illustrations may be helpful as you conceptualize your own process in synthesizing the research literature.
