Walden Computer: Accounts & shared resources

 

There are a number of standard accounts and shared resources everyone at Walden can access.  In addition, the Office of Academic Support, as well as the individual departments, have additional accounts and resources. 

 

Walden accounts

Walden provides the following accounts to all staff.

  • network user name and password (used to access most Walden resources)
  • Outlook e-mail address
  • phone number (612 area code regardless of your actual location)
  • Library databases
  • MyLearn (professional development resources)
  • PeopleSoft (expense report software)
  • SHRPS (annual review software)
  • Turnitin (for faculty)
  • UltiPro (vacation, change of address, other HR software)

Walden resources

Walden provides a number of resources to share information and collaborate across the university.

  • Office 365: online MS Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneDrive
  • Skype for Business
  • MyWalden University (Walden University/Walden U intranet)
  • SharePoint (most departments have a SharePoint site)
  • shared network drives (requires VPN access OR a wired/wireless connection within a corporate office)
    • H drive: your personal network drive
    • J drive: Customer Care network drive with department folders

Additional accounts

In addition to the standard accounts used by everyone at Walden, you may also have other Walden or departmental accounts. 

Some of these are:

  • Adobe Connect (virtual conferencing software)
  • Banner (student records database)
  • Blackboard (student classroom)
  • GoToMeeting/GoToTraining/GoToWebinar (virtual conferencing software)
  • Google Plus, Drive, and Apps
  • LibGuides (student-facing websites and other instructional content)
  • Quick Answers (LibAnswers; student-facing knowledge base)
  • Qualtrics (survey and assessment software)
  • Salesforce (customer relationship management database for most student contacts)
  • SARS (online appointment scheduling system)
  • Techsmith (screensharing)
