The SOC-OFE holds a weekly drop-in Q&A sessions for general questions and information related to field experience.

**You do not need to be present for the entire call - please feel free to drop in at any time during the hour to get your questions answered.**

The SOC-OFE telephone is answered Monday through Friday during regular business hours by the Assistant Field Experience Operations Coordinator, who can answer basic questions, help guide you to information on this website or in the Field Experience Manual, or leave messages for the appropriate SOC-OFE staff.

For field site emergencies, please contact your faculty supervisor.

 

Zoom Appointments

Current School of Counseling students can schedule an appointment to speak with a Field Experience Operations Coordinator via Zoom. Appointments allow you to discuss more detailed and complex matters related to field experience that cannot be adequately resolved via e-mail.

Read the SOC-OFE appointment policies below:

  • Appointments will be conducted via Zoom (being on camera is not required). Please ensure that you show for your schedule appointment on time. If you do not enter the Zoom meeting by 5 minutes following the scheduled start time, we will call the phone number you provide when scheduling the appointment. If there is no answer, the appointment will be canceled.

  • Most questions are answered on our website and in the Field Experience Manual. You are expected to review these materials in detail prior to scheduling an appointment.

  • When you reserve your appointment, you'll be able to note the purpose for the appointment. This helps the field experience operations coordinator better prepare for your conversation, so please be very detailed.

  • Due to the scientific studies showing a higher risk of car accidents from talking on a cell phone while driving, we do not conduct appointments with students while they are driving. If you are driving during your appointment, we will ask you to pull over to the side of the road to give our conversation your full attention, or we will require that your appointment be rescheduled.

  • Appointments for matters that are outside of the purview of the Field Experience Operations Coordinators (e.g. Site Search Support) will be canceled with follow-up via email regarding how to resolve those matters.

  • If you will not attend your scheduled appointment, please use the link in your appointment email confirmation or e-mail the SOC-OFE to cancel so that we can open up the time slot for another student.
