In order to be eligible to attend an intensive retreat, PhD candidates must:
- Have completed residency 1, 2 and 3
- Note: You can attend a PhD DI to satisfy the residency 4 requirement for your degree program
- Have an approved committee chairperson on file at the University and started working with the committee chairperson
- Have a completed prospectus on file at the University
- Have been enrolled in at least one term of their degree program's dissertation course:

- HLTH 9101
- HLTH 9001
- HUMN 9000
- HUMN 9001
- IPSY 9000
- MGMT 9000
- NURS 9000
- PPPA 9000
- PSYC 9000
- PUBH 9001
- SOCW 9000
PhD students attending the intensive retreat for residency 4 must attend all sessions and advising throughout the entire intensive retreat in order to successfully complete the experience to satisfy residency 4 requirements.
