Walden University Research Conference

Walden University Research Conference

Beginning in 2020, the Walden University Research Conference is a virtual gathering of scholars and researchers at the University for the purposes of scientific discourse and exchange of ideas. This conference is modeled on the typical academic conferences held by varies professional groups. Research presentations from any discipline or methodological approach represented at Walden University are welcomed, but collaborations and efforts that link research to Walden's mission of promoting positive social change are particularly valued.

Each year, Walden University hosts a research symposium to showcase the scholarly efforts of our academic community. Presentations are given in two formats. Posters give researchers a chance to engage with all individuals attending the symposium and potentially to network with other interested researchers. Using a roundtable format, a select group of researchers are available for interactive discussions of their work, with handouts and visual materials available to support the discussion.

Each symposium offers a range of research topics from our faculty, students, and graduates. And, although the topics are as diverse as the methodologies used to study them, all presentations share a common goal of supporting positive social change. Some projects have been funded through internal grants, but many projects report cutting- edge findings from doctoral capstones, conducted by Walden students. The true strength of the symposia lies in the interactions between presenters and audience, however, so presentations of in-progress research are also supported.

More information on the up-coming and previous symposia can be found below. Questions: researchsymposium@waldenu.edu

The 2021 Research Conference

Walden University’s Center for Research Quality is inviting proposals for the second annual Walden Research Conference being held virtually on October 1. Proposals from any discipline or methodological approach represented at Walden University are welcome, but collaborations and efforts that link research to Walden's mission of promoting positive social change are particularly encouraged.

Walden University Research Conference 2021 will be a virtual gathering of scholars and researchers at the university for the purpose of scientific discourse and exchange of ideas. The conference theme is Transitions. A transition involves a period of change, and proposals can focus on research involving transitions of individuals, groups, organizations, policies and practices, or even society. Research is also in transition, and as such, we are soliciting proposals for research that demonstrate the efficacy of newer trends in research or in response to changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting with an opening session on the evening of Thursday, September 30, conference events will occur both synchronously and asynchronously in a variety of formats, including oral presentations and digital posters. More information and instructions for submitting a proposal can be found in the Call for Proposals. The submission deadline for Walden University Research Conference 2021 alumni proposals is June 11. If you have questions about submitting a proposal, contact researchconference@mail.waldenu.edu.

Information about registering for the conference will be available in the summer, so stay tuned!

The 2020 Research Conference

The Center for Research Quality hosted the inaugural Walden University Research Conference on October 1 - 3, 2020. The conference theme, Research Leading the Way for the Next 50 Years, celebrated Walden’s 50th anniversary in 2020. Presenters explored both the history of their topic and how their efforts may shape the future of research in their area. An archive of the event can be found here:
