In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Adtalem Global Education and Walden University want to assure you of their continued commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy educational environment. We continue to monitor ongoing developments related to COVID-19 and to take additional measures to protect you, your classmates, and your families from contracting and spreading COVID-19, including implementing this policy.
Please read this policy carefully.
Consistent with the CDC and WHO’s guidance, to prevent the infection and spread of COVID- 19, and as an integral part of its public health and safety measures, Walden University recommends that all students who attend in-person field experiences or academic residencies, labs, or intensives be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
A person is considered fully vaccinated (“Vaccinated Students”) two weeks after having all doses of a vaccine (2 doses for Pfizer, Oxford-AstraZeneca and Moderna; 1 dose for Johnson & Johnson).
Students must also comply with their field experience site policies, which may require COVID-19 vaccination and/or COVID-19 testing. Students who do not comply with those site-specific requirements may experience delays in academic progress due to inability to complete the field experience requirement of the program.
In-person academic events hosted by Walden University, such as residencies, labs, or intensives will follow the COVID-19 protocol requirements of the jurisdiction and/or venue for the event. Any such requirements will be included in the event registration information. Students will not be able to register for these in-person events until all requirements are met.
We need your full cooperation with this and other health and safety protocols to make them effective.
Government and public health guidelines, restrictions and best practices regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines are changing rapidly as new information becomes available and further research is conducted. Adtalem and Walden University reserve the right to modify this policy at any time in their sole discretion to adapt to changing circumstances and safety concerns, consistent with its commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy educational environment.
