Reports: Quick Answers: Page Views

Overview

Quick Answer data is pulled from both LibAnswers, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console. 

  • Department and individual answer page views: LibAnswer
    • Page view data is pulled from LibAnswers because it does not include views from anyone logged in to LibAnswers. For example, if you are editing an answer, LibAnswers will not count that as a view but Google Analytics will.
  • Quick Answers search widgets: LibAnswers
  • Google searches: Google Search Console
  • Everything else: Google Analytics

  1. Click on the Stats drop-down menu in the orange banner, and select FAQ Entries.

  2. In the Group field select Student-facing Quick Answers.

  3. Enter the appropriate date range in the Between fields.

  4. Click the Filter button.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the public views.​

Page Views by Topic

  1. Click on the Stats drop-down menu in the orange banner, and select FAQ Entries.

  2. In the Group field select Student-facing Quick Answers.

  3. Enter the appropriate date range in the Between fields.

  4. Select an owner if desired (usually, leave this in the default).

  5. Select the desired topic.

  6. Click the Filter button.

Individual FAQ Page Views

  1. Find the desired answer in the FAQ entries list

  2. Click the answer title to go to the edit page.

  3. Click the arrow next to Statistics, in the right column, to expand the box.

  4. Click View monthly breakdown of views/shares to see public views by month.

Note: Stats for the current month are not shown.

 

The statistics provided are:

  • Public Page Views: total page views for all time

  • API Views: page views for the answer embedded somewhere else

  • Email Shares (through LibAnswers): answer emailed through the QA ticket system (we don't use the ticket system)

  • Twitter Shares (through LibAnswers): currently turned off in our system

  • Facebook Shares (through LibAnswers): currently turned off in our system

  • Was this helpful? Yes: QA thumbs up/down poll (hidden for most answers)

  • Was this helpful? No: QA thumbs up/down poll (hidden for most answers)

  • Reuse (by other LibAnswers sites): answer used in other LibAnswer systems
