Accreditation and Licensure Information

For the most up to date information on PhD Clinical Psychology accreditation and licensure matters review the Walden University website PhD in Clinical Psychology page.

States that currently recognize regional accreditation or APA Program Equivalency are listed below. For more information about current and up to date state requirements, please review the information on the state board websites linked below, and contact them directly for any follow up questions.   

Please remember that licensure eligibility determinations are ultimately determined by the state board that issues the credential to practice. Students should visit their state board’s website for the most updated and accurate information.

Submitting Board Form for Completion

Effective February 1, 2022 all board form requests must be submitted via Meditrek in order to be processed by the Psychology Office of Certification, Licensure, and Compliance.

To submit a request you must follow this process: 

  1. Login to your Meditrek account.
  2. On the home screen, near the bottom, click on “Certification & Licensure”.
  3. Choose your state from the dropdown.
  4. Click on the state (blue underlined hyperlink).
  5. Complete all the fields and attach the completed document.

                 Note: This email address is where you will receive updates about this request. We suggest using your personal email vs Walden email.

  1. Attach your completed document.
    • Leave the school required fields blank on the document.
    • Fill in all areas that require completion by the applicant (contact information, SSN, license number, date of birth, etc.).
    • If the form requires your signature, sign and date the form.
  2. Enter your Meditrek password.
  3. Click “Submit Request”.

Once your request is submitted, you can login to your Meditrek account at any time to see the status of the request. You will also be contacted via email with any updates to your request.

 

To ensure there are no delays in processing your request, make sure:

  1. You have entered all your time logs and completed enough hours.
  2. Your time logs are signed by your supervisor(s).
  3. You apply for graduation. Your degree will not be conferred until you apply for graduation and your form cannot be completed until your degree is conferred.
