The Library offers research assistance for faculty working on professional research for grants, publications, or conference papers or faculty who are involved in course development or course updates. We can suggest databases, subject terms, search results, and help the faculty member come up with a search strategy for their topic.

For each topic, I’ve identified relevant databases and subject terms and provided links to the search results from a selection of Walden Library databases.
Once you click on the link to the search results you can review the results for relevant articles, but you can also play around with the results if they aren’t exactly what you were looking for. Some options might be:
- adjusting the date range to included older articles
- un-checking the full-text box which will let you see what is available outside of the Walden Library
- replacing keywords and subject terms with other keywords that you have identified
- trying new combinations of keywords
- trying the same search but in one of the other suggested databases
I noticed that a lot of the results on leadership would talk specifically about leadership in business, nursing, or education. If those results start to bog you down, you can type NOT nursing or NOT education or NOT business into a new search field and that will eliminate those results from the list.
The best database for leadership searches is probably Business Source Complete but you can also use our search tool called Thoreau to search all of our databases for a multi-disciplinary approach.
