  • Name of Video:  Alleviating Fear of Failure and Perfectionism
  • Description:  Latrice is a young African American woman who opens the session with her concerns about "sabotaging" relationships--romantic and work relationships. The client expresses her general "fear of failure" and perfectionism stemming from her being sexually assaulted two years before; she also expresses a fear of being alone because of her inability to "love herself" and, thus, love others.

The Case of Walter

Description:  Walter is an 11 year old, white, Caucasian male. His mother brought him to counseling reporting symptoms of difficulty sleeping at night, poor eating habits, low mood, and problems at school.  He is an only child; who initially began having difficulty when his parents divorced.  Since the divorce Walter has made improvements in school and his mood after receiving counseling services from a school counselor.  However his mother reports that Walter no longer takes an interest in any of the things he normally enjoys such as completing school work, video games, watching television and playing with his neighborhood friends. He wants to spend all of his time in his room alone, since his grandfather’s death.
