To Inform and Delight: Employing Synthesis for Scholarship that Shines
At Dissertation or Doctoral Study Intensives, editors from the Walden Writing Center present one APA and writing-focused presentation. Editors are also available for one-on-one student meetings.
During one, full-morning presentation session, editors cover APA style, with an emphasis on citations, references, and writing. Included in this presentation is also information regarding academic writing in general, synthesis, paragraph construction, argument construction, cohesion, flow, as well as specific elements of the dissertation or doctoral study like developing a literature review.
During the afternoon, one-on-one meeting time, editors interact with a student for 30 minutes. Students can ask questions, have an editor walk them through examples or resources, or have the editor read and edit a portion of the student’s writing.
