Please note:

1.    For qualitative researchers, there are many options for computer-assisted qualitative analysis software. Because students use different programs in qualitative research, we cannot provide tutorials or instructional support for them all. Instead, we created an information sheet about software for qualitative researchers. It includes contacts for additional guidance.

2.    Our tutors are not outside statisticians or research consultants. Our staff cannot review a student's analysis, findings, or other chapters of the dissertation. Please review our policies for the scheduling guidelines for appointments. As the University suggests, to be successful in the dissertation presentation and defense, students need to be able to explain and defend every aspect of their work. Please visit the University Catalog section on Capstone Research  and  the University Catalog section on Guidance for Walden Students on the Use of External Consultants for Capstone Projects for more information.

Academic Skills Center Courses and Workshops

We currently have four workshops for students in the proposal stage of their doctoral program: proposal (general), the introduction, the literature review, and the methods section. The workshops help students edit and revise their proposals, so they are only appropriate for students who have already started writing and have a good content foundation. The focus in the workshops is only on writing; our faculty will not advise students on content or methods.

Please send any questions to SKILcourses@mail.waldenu.edu and visit us on our website for ASC courses and workshops
