To access Canvas, students will log in through the Walden Student Portal and faculty will log in through the Walden Faculty Portal. Both ways will take you to the Home Page of a specific course.

There are Course Navigation menu items that are only visible to the instructor and these are indicated with an icon of an eye with a diagonal line through it. Let's review the main components of the menu that are not visible to students. Settings does not have the eye icon but is still not visible for students.
The Assignments page shows the graded items in the course, including assignments, quizzes, and discussions. If the course is structured into Grading Categories, the assignments will display in those Groups.
The Discussions area allows you to access all of the Discussions within a course. Once there you can click the name of the Discussion to navigate to it.
The Rubrics area allows you to access all of the Rubrics within a course. Once there you can click the name of the Rubric to view it.
The Quizzes area allows you to access all of the Quizzes within a course. Once there you can click the name of the Quiz to navigate to it.
The People area shows details about the users enrolled in the course. Some data displayed in this area is their Last Activity and Total Activity in the course.
The Files area holds all of the Files located within a specific course.
The Outcomes area will not be utilized at this time.
The Collaborations area will not be utilized at this time.
The Pages area shows all pages included in this course. When navigating to Pages, the homepage will display first. Click View All Pages to see additional pages in the course.
Current guidance is that instructors should not change anything in the Settings area.
