About Jennifer: I am in my second year at Walden and new to the role of tutoring. I love teaching accounting and hope to engage students in also enjoying the field. I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in business. I live on a small hobby farm with my husband, chickens, dogs, and a very spoiled cat. I also teach accounting at a local community college and enjoy cooking, yoga, and meditation. Spending time with my children and grandchildren is how I spend my free time. I am also working on a 50-state half marathon journey!
My Advice to Walden Students
Time management is the most important component of success. Scheduling in not only your time for schoolwork
but for personal time and fitness are crucial!
Why I enjoy my role as a peer tutor:
I love working with students! It is so much fun when the lightbulb goes off relating to an accounting or finance concept!
What students can expect from me as a tutor:
I try to prepare in advance for tutoring sessions, so providing as much information on what you are needed assistance with is helpful. We will share screens, and talk through problems. I work hard to make sure I can explain complex concepts in simple terms to help you learn to enjoy finance and accounting as much as I do!
