Todd Correa

About Me

Tutoring Area: Statistics/SPSS

Current Program: PhD Counselor Education and Supervision

Location: Western North Carolina

About Todd: If you had told me that I would become a stats tutor before entering the PhD program, I would not have believed you. Who would have thought you could enjoy stats without being a mathematician. I have a master’s degree from Adams State University in Colorado and have been practicing as a counselor for over 20 years with many different populations. I am currently an LCMHC in NC and LPC in VA, where I practice play therapy and other modalities with children, adolescents, and their families. I recently purchased a cabin in the woods and found serenity with the animals and the trees in WNC.

Highlights

Social Change Project: Volunteer with the Red Cross Disaster Team in WNC.

Social Change Project: Trauma Counselor for Children, adolescents, and families

My Advice to Walden Students

Remember to enjoy the journey and take many breaks for time for yourself, family, and friends.

My Role as a Peer Tutor

Why I enjoy my role as a peer tutor:

I have enjoyed being a counselor for the past 20 years. I find my passion for assisting others in being that conduit of change.

What students can expect from me as a tutor:

You can count on me to be thoughtful and encouraging throughout the peer tutor process. I understand that coming to a statistics tutor might not be your favorite thing to do, and you might be frustrated with trying to learn the concepts on your own; however, come prepared with questions, and we will work on the ideas to help you retain the information for your success. I realize that not everyone learns in the same ways. I will prepare in ways to assist you in a multitude of ways that I hope you might find enjoyable.
