About Matthew: I hail from the great state of Minnesota where I live in the coldest town in the entire state, Embarrass. Yes, you read that right, the town IS called Embarrass. Look it up sometime. I have been married to a wonderful woman for 17 years and have two little girls, 13 & 8, that keep me very busy. I have many interests outside of academics but my primary one would be music. I enjoy playing, listening to, and attending all kinds of musical activities in my spare time. Additionally, I love cinema with a special love for the horror genre. I’ve been an educator for 18 years in various capacities and am looking forward to working with the wonderful students and faculty at Walden!
My Advice to Walden Students
Ask questions. All the time. Ask them of your professor, your peers, and those around you.
My Role as a Teacher
Why I enjoy teaching at Walden:
It allows me to continue to learn. I learn just as much from my students as I hope they learn from me.
What students can expect from me as a teacher:
I will always take the time to help find them answers. Even if I don't know the answer, students can expect that I will point them in the direction of someone who does."
