Course Materials: Videos & Media

Locating Your Course Videos

The majority of course videos are located in the Week/Module Resources section of your classroom. If you have problems viewing media you may need to reinstall your Flash software or contact Media Support.

Note: Some videos in counseling courses are found in the Counseling and Therapy in Video database. Look for a direct link to the video in your Course Readings guide.

To access your course videos please follow the steps below:

  • In your classroom menu, click on the appropriate week or module link.
  • Next, click on the Resources link.
  • Scroll down to the Media section of the Resources page. Should your course have a video for this particular week or module, it will be listed individually, beneath its citation information.

Software Required for Viewing Classroom Videos

To view videos in your classroom, first, make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer.  You are able to install this for free at www.adobe.com.

Note: if you are using Google Chrome, it has an integrated version of flash already.

After installing Flash, if you are still unable to view the media, you may need to allow all content to be displayed on your computer.  The directions to do this differ for each browser type and are shown below:

  • Internet Explorer
    • A popup window should come up asking if you want to view all content, in this case, you should select “yes”.  It may also ask if you only want to display the content that is secure, in this case, you should select “no”.
  • Firefox
    • Click on the icon to the left of the URL bar that looks like a shield. From the dropdown menu, select “disable protection on this page.”
  • Google Chrome
    • Click on the icon to the right of the URL bar that looks like a shield and select for unsafe script to “load anyway”.
