Academic Partnerships: Royal Canadian Mounted Police Portfolio

 

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Officers who successfully complete the Executive Officer Development Program (in 2014 or later) can submit their certificate of completion to the Admissions Office and have the opportunity to complete prior learning portfolios to earn up to 3 credits in the Master in Business Administration Leadership specialization or the Master of Science in Management Leadership specialization or up to 6 credits in the Master of Science in Leadership program. 

Below is a table displaying the Walden programs and courses that can transfer in through the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officers programs through successful completion of a prior learning portfolio.

Cost: $150 per Portfolio vs. Approximate Cost of Master's Course: $ 2,600

Step 1:

Students interested in creating a prior learning portfolio will contact the Office of Degree Acceleration at oda@mail.waldenu.edu. They will use the process described in the Prior Learning Portfolio section to complete the appropriate portfolios.  

Step 2:

Students will upload all required elements (resume, narrative, and pieces of evidence) into the SkillsFirst Portfolio tool in OptimalResume found on the Career Planning and Development website.

Step 3:

Students will make payment and submit their portfolio using the Portfolio Payment and Submission Forms page of the Office of Degree Acceleration website.  Once representatives in the Office of Degree Acceleration receive the submitted portfolio and confirm payment, they will submit the portfolio to a faculty assessor for review. Assessors have 14 days to review and provide recommendation for credit. Only one submission is allowed per course.
