Evidence-Based Research: Overview

Introduction

The goal of this guide is to enable you to do evidence-based research in the Walden Library and beyond. Specifically, it covers:

  • turning a research question, for instance a PICOT question, into usable search terms
  • searching for different levels of evidence
  • finding evidence-based research in Walden subscription databases
  • finding specific types of evidence-based research

Evidence-based practice research centers

The following links are for websites of various evidence-based research centers. While these sites are not a source for finding full text articles, exploring them may provide context for where evidence-based research comes from and may also show developing research trends. Many centers also offer general information about conducting evidence-based research on their sites.
